Boat Surveying
All of our survey methods and practices follow the format promoted by the Institute of Marine Engineer's 'Small Ships Group' and apply to steel, fibre-glass composites, timber and aluminium craft.
The individual elements of the craft are assessed separately and as a whole in order that a detailed, coherent and user friendly report can be put together. The individual reports break the craft down into a number of separate sections, each containing positive and negative comments together with a list of recommendations as appropriate within each section.
We conduct the following surveys:
- Pre-purchase condition survey
- Insurance condition survey
- Hull external inspection
- Partial survey
- Damage inspection
- Valuations
- CDIM / MISW Surveys
- On / Off Hire Surveys
- Bunkering Surveys
Surveys are conducted for a number of reasons. The following photographs illustrate the range of survey work routinely carried out by J D Wood Surveying.
